Welcome to my blog!

If this is the first time you are viewing it, I strongly recommend to start from "About Us," and then go to the very beginning (August 2011, Post 1). Otherwise, you may still enjoy the drawings, but the whole idea won't make much sense (I truly hope it does make sense if you read it in the proper order).

31. Spring is coming!

Maybe it's a little early, but I can't wait! Besides, in Europe Spring starts on March 1st. So here are several of Victor's drawings about Spring.

"Spring is coming!"

"Весна Идет!"

And this one is not really about Spring, but this is the time of Pisces, so I thought this double-portrait would be appropriate.

Finally, after I finished this post, Victor just sent me one more drawing - his congratulation with the new Spring.

30. A Museum of One Painting.

ОK, not exactly, just a post of one drawing. But this drawing does not need any company, and there are more plots, themes and ideas than in all artwork combined of some artists. The title that Victor gave to this drawing - "Чересполосица" - is not fully translatable from Russian. The only translations I found online - "strip farming," "overlapping" - give the actual agricultural meaning of this word, but don't really convey the idea. So I'll name it "Everything is Related" - I hope he won't mind.

29. Something Different

A few months ago Victor told me that when he recently sat down to draw, his hand suddenly started producing something in a completely different style. He sounded surprised, as though this happened against his will. I had always liked his clear laconic lines, and when he showed this to me, from the first glance it seemed almost like betrayal. But as I looked at these drawings longer, they looked warmer, more natural.

"Christ's Children"

"St. Peter and St. Andrew"

And with his "Valency," I simply fell in love the new style. I wish I had some actual education in analyzing artwork. Then I would write something smart like "dynamism of the artist's lines" etc. But all I can discuss is some vague feelings and associations that this drawing evokes in me - I hope in others too.
